Louis Vuitton 2024 Fall Collection Lands in Shanghai! Collaborating with Chinese Contemporary Artists, Cute Animals Take Center Stage

Women’s creative director Nicolas Ghesquière has been working with Louis Vuitton for 10 years, and after completing the 10th anniversary show, he held the 2024 early autumn fashion show in Shanghai, injecting new creativity into his work!

Louis Vuitton announced the launch of the “Louis Vuitton Voyager Show” project in December last year, covering the brand’s early autumn and early spring men’s and women’s fashion shows. In order to highlight the spirit of Louis Vuitton’s travel, the fashion show takes everyone to various parts of the world, designing and using local environments and cultural exchanges as the unique foundation of the series.

Selecting the Shanghai Long Museum

The 2024 early autumn women’s wear show held in Shanghai as the first Voyager Show was located at the Long Museum, founded by the collector couple Liu Yiqian and Wang Wei, whose name echoes the slender funnel-shaped architectural design. This largest private museum in China has the richest collection in the country, bringing together ancient and contemporary Chinese art, Chinese revolutionary art, as well as contemporary works from Asia, Europe, and the United States.

Collaborating with contemporary artist Sun

This time, Nicolas Ghesquière specially collaborated with the young contemporary artist Sun Yitian to create a series, injecting new ideas into classic iconic elements with her cute and vivid animal designs. A series of animal art pieces are presented in clothing designs through huge prints or embroidered patterns, opening the fashion show with rich and vibrant colors and a joyful atmosphere, creating a distinct and playful effect!

This season’s collection looks back on Nicolas Ghesquière’s classic aesthetic elements and tones over the past decade, with highly recognizable three-dimensional tailoring, surprising contrasts in length, delicate interweaving at times, wonderfully contrasting printed patterns, accessories that run through the theme, showcasing the feminine charm between strength and softness!

A new chapter in classic handbags

Bags are also worth noting. The cute animals of contemporary artist Sun Yitian are also extended to bag designs, such as small handbags in the shape of a tiger’s head, as well as bags incorporating the classic Monogram pattern, including Petite Malle, Twist, OnTheGo, Diane, Loop, Side Trunk, Atlantis, Noé, Cannes, and Camera Box. The handbags like Capucines and Dauphine have also ushered in a new chapter, showcasing a flexible and versatile new look. At the same time, the Slim Trunk has joined the ranks of the brand’s classic handbags, witnessing the long history of Louis Vuitton’s continuous evolution and development in an enduring style.
