Valentino 2024 Spring/Summer collection continues to showcase exquisite craftsmanship, with Creative Director Pierpaolo Piccioli embracing the concept of “L’École” to celebrate the beauty of female liberation and humanity through design. The collection conveys profound feminist philosophy, liberating the body from male gaze and societal expectations, empowering women with the autonomy to make their own choices and find their own comfort.
This season’s fashion show was held at the historic École des Beaux-Arts in France, where artist and musician FKA Twigs and numerous dancers gracefully danced to showcase the meaning of liberating women’s bodies. The Valentino L’École collection embodies an attitude and emotion that celebrates the beauty of the body.
Brand new Altorilievo craftsmanship
The series opens with a series of all-white outfits, harking back to 1968 when Mr. Valentino Garavani made a name for himself with a collection of all-white clothing. This season, the main color theme is white, offering a subtle and elegant tribute to the brand’s history.
Valentino uses the close connection between fabric and the body to subvert our traditional perception of nudity. The new craftsmanship, Altorilievo, cleverly sculpts the fabric into seamless three-dimensional forms, creating a naturalistic artistic expression – Baroque-style botanical patterns, fruits, flowers, and animal motifs that surround the body like a frame, highlighting our own pure essence.
