The brand’s latest 2022 autumn/winter collection, set in the salt marshes of Arles Camargue in the south of France, features pure neutral colors and flowing white fabrics against the endless backdrop of pure white salt marshes, creating a beautiful and supernatural visual feast.
The collection is named “LE PAPIER,” continuing the neutral color palette of past seasons. Simon Porte Jacquemus chooses to use black, white, stone gray, and earth tones as the main colors, creating a pure and flawless image against the backdrop of the endless white salt mountain. Some garments use soft, close-fitting fabrics to create a sense of drape, simple and romantic yet elegant; there are also fitted tailoring designs, embellished with sheer chiffon, balancing between strength and softness.
The entire series includes designs for both men and women, with the women’s section featuring a large amount of white chiffon embellishments, whether as headscarf decorations or as patchwork decorations on clothing, evoking a beautiful and romantic bridal look. The flowing white chiffon adds a poetic touch to the style; later evolving into a theme of coarse linen canvas for suit designs, gradually transitioning to deep brown designs, exuding a simple and rustic charm.
In addition, the series also officially released a variety of collaborative designs with Nike, including the previously exposed backless jumpsuit and knitted knee socks on social media, as well as the trending Nike Air Humara shoes, interpreting women’s sportswear in a minimalist way, blending the images of softness and toughness of women, showcasing the versatility of modern female athletes.
