#Paris Fashion Week: Valentino’s 2022 Fall/Winter collection showcases exquisite craftsmanship in a pink world.

by

In the Valentino Fall/Winter 2022 collection, creative director Pierpaolo Piccioli presented an experimental creation in monochrome tones, highlighting the brand’s exquisite craftsmanship through the various facets and characteristics of pink.

This pink fashion show conceived by Pierpaolo Piccioli, called Valentino Pink PP Collection, uses a specially adjusted pink color in collaboration with the color authority Pantone Color Institute as the main theme. Through cutting, materials, textures, and details, it showcases the infinite versatility and personality of pink, creating a pure, strong series.

All men’s and women’s clothing in the collection, as well as metal accessories, are adorned with pink; the women’s silhouette incorporates geometric pleats, adding layers to the loose-fitting style, paired with a waist-cinching design and extremely short hemlines, creating a sensually charming “S” shape. There are also pleated chiffon shirts paired with high-waisted trousers, injecting a touch of toughness into the overall look.

The collection also heavily features Valentino’s signature decorative details, including bows, ruffles, petals, sequins, and embroidery, embodying the brand’s elegant vibe.

In the middle of the fashion show, a series of black outfits were specially inserted, like the interlude in a song, giving the audience a brief rest, bringing visual balance, and highlighting the eye-catching neon pink.

The fashion show concluded with haute couture evening gowns featuring elaborate feathers, crystals, and intricate embroidery; finally, veteran supermodel Kristen McMenamy appeared in a flowing chiffon evening gown, exuding dominance with every gesture, breaking the established impression of pink.
