#Paris Fashion Week: Off-White™ 2022 Fall/Winter Collection continues Virgil Abloh’s creative vision.

by

Since Virgil Abloh’s sudden passing in November of last year, the designs he left behind have become even more precious. The Off-White™ Fall/Winter 2022 collection, continued by the brand’s creative team, embodies Virgil Abloh’s vision and values, with the fashion show titled “Spaceship Earth: an Imaginary Experience,” using a spaceship as a metaphor to guide everyone into Virgil Abloh’s creative world.

The fashion show not only includes Off-White™’s 2022 autumn/winter ready-to-wear collection, but also a new high fashion collection designed by Virgil Abloh and completed by the brand’s creative team. The women’s ready-to-wear collection, named “Seeing Red,” is inspired by 90s technological elements, Bohemian style, and subcultures; a series of dark looks that combine skiwear with party attire, models wearing cutout knits, low-rise pants, crystal-adorned jumpsuits, and folk-style printed boots, bringing together what seems like conflicting style elements with seamless harmony.

In addition, on the sky bridge, you can also see two of the latest collaborative shoes, one is the Nike x Off-White™ Air Force 1 Mid, which is sure to become a hit item, and the other is a design collaboration with the British heritage shoe brand Church’s.

The fashion show’s meaty part is the debut of the haute couture collection, featuring a total of 28 stunning and glamorous designs. This section opened with Bella Hadid wearing a white wide-sleeved taffeta “wedding dress,” and the following 27 looks were even more captivating one after another.

Kylie Jenner wore a little black dress with the slogan “Little Black Dress” that she was supposed to wear at the 2020 Met Gala; paying tribute to Carrie Bradshaw from “Sex and the City” with a huge shopping bag. Meanwhile, veteran supermodel Cindy Crawford’s two handbags also seem to carry a serious message, with one featuring the words “MORE LIFE” and the other filled with red and white capsules, reminiscent of Virgil Abloh’s very private battle with cancer.
