In the 2022 autumn and winter season, Moschino finally returned to Milan Fashion Week. As always, Jeremy Scott not only did not disappoint, but also gave everyone a visual surprise. This season, he transformed the show venue into the bedroom from Stanley Kubrick’s classic sci-fi film “2001: A Space Odyssey,” with models embodying walking classical furniture.
The Moschino Fall/Winter 2022 collection, themed “A Space Opulence,” takes inspiration from the Baroque-style rooms in “2001: A Space Odyssey,” transforming exquisite and extravagant classical furniture such as grand grandfather clocks, golden harps, champagne barrels, crystal chandeliers, and screens into grand evening gowns and accessories, showcasing Jeremy Scott’s boundless creativity.
In addition, he also draws inspiration from Moschino’s past classics, where the brand’s founder Franco Moschino once used cutlery and faucet handles as clothing decorations; while Jeremy Scott turns faucet handles into suits, buttons on coats, or uses forks, knives, and spoons as decorations on black jumpsuits, he always has the ability to make elegant suits and evening gowns not boring.
When it comes to extravagant styles in the series, none are more exaggerated than the harp evening gown interpreted by the famous model Cara Taylor. From the front, you may not see where the harp is, but Jeremy Scott cleverly connects the skirt to the harp, replacing the original lapel of the standing collar top, gorgeous yet playful.
Finally, Jeremy Scott appeared in a red spacesuit to take a bow, echoing the theme of the collection and the futuristic backdrop of “2001: A Space Odyssey”.
