Since Matthew M. Williams took over as Creative Director of Givenchy, he has successfully made the brand more youthful and stylish! With a passion for art and music, he not only brought in Hip-Hop artist Young Thug to create the background music for this season’s show, using futuristic electronic music rhythms to set the mood; in terms of clothing design, he also continues the brand’s classic history, bringing a sophisticated and rebellious Spring/Summer 2022 collection.

Matthew M. Williams, who often collaborates with different artists, specially invited Josh Smith from New York this season. Combining the distinctive colors and lines that the other party excels in, using chunky knitting instead of its streamlined strokes, and applying a large amount of patchwork and recombination to prints and fabrics, injecting a major highlight into the clothing.

On the other hand, Matthew M. Williams also draws inspiration from the classic works of brand founder Hubert de Givenchy, incorporating tight corsets and waist pleats. By using stiff suit materials and neoprene fabrics, he creates a three-dimensional silhouette, bringing a balance of strength and softness to the design. Some garments also feature special rounded edge details, along with English embroidery trim, as well as the use of knitting, gauze, and sheer fabrics to create a fresh and elegant feeling, crafting a stylish spring and summer wardrobe for modern women.
