#Milan Fashion Week: Prada 2022 Spring/Summer Collection, the first physical show in collaboration with Raf Simons, interprets sensuality in a minimalist way.

Due to the impact of the epidemic, although Raf Simons officially joined Prada as the co-creative director starting from the Spring/Summer 2021 season, designing a total of four series of menswear and womenswear with Miuccia Prada, this is the first physical fashion show brought by the collaboration of the two ── also the first fashion show in fashion history to be held simultaneously in two different cities.

The brand adopts a “Milan-Shanghai” connection model, allowing models from both cities to wear identical outfits and broadcast the other city’s scene through the screen simultaneously, expressing the brand’s understanding of the importance of global interaction.

Returning to the clothing design aspect, the Prada Spring/Summer 2022 collection is themed “Seduction, Stripped Down”, boldly playing with the concepts of seduction and sexiness. However, in the eyes of Miuccia Prada and Raf Simons, sexiness does not mean baring it all or showing a lot of skin, but rather interpreting the word “sexy” through extreme simplicity and refinement by removing all complex decorations.

On the sky bridge, you can see a minimalist satin short skirt, paired with a very “Raf Simons-style” leather jacket, with straight lines and a borrowed-from-the-boyfriend casual feel; there is also a train skirt inspired by haute couture concepts. Raf Simons believes that a beautiful evening gown still maintains a distance from people’s lives, so he captures the imagery of “elegance, long tail” and sews it on the back of the short skirt, defining a modern silhouette of evening wear.

The knitted sweater with embedded steel rings walks the line between sexy and comfortable, even though the design intentionally highlights the chest, the overall look is never vulgar.
