After more than a year of turmoil caused by the pandemic, many people are nostalgic for the days of traveling and going abroad. Max Mara Creative Director Ian Griffiths believes that even though we may not be able to travel abroad at the moment, it does not stop us from cherishing the wonderful memories of carefree travel. Therefore, he specifically chose the Ischia Island in the Bay of Naples, Italy to launch the 2022 holiday collection, holding a physical show at the renowned Mezzatorre Hotel & Thermal Spa.
Since the 1950s, Ischia has always been a playground for the upper class. The series is inspired by the travelogue “LOCAL COLOR” by the famous American writer Truman Capote, which depicts a group of fashionable women in hotels at that time, their shopping trips, poolside parties, and various charming worldly adventures. They dress brightly, travel around the world, and are passionate about seeking grace and elegance in life. The upper class calls them “swans”.
The clothing styles in the collection are inspired by their day-to-night versatility, offering suitable outfits for any occasion and incorporating modern elements. New styles include pleated skirts, tailored blazers, jumpsuits, and sporty jackets.
The brand’s classic 101801 coat is made of high-tech knitted fabric this time, which can cope with weather changes. Even if it is casually stuffed into the airplane luggage compartment, it will not wrinkle or deform when taken out. The entire series features a luxurious and casual Jet Set style of clothing.
In addition to the classic beige color scheme, the series also includes bright and colorful tones, from bright blush pink to pink, and even crimson, creating a strong visual impact.
