The Burberry 2021 autumn/winter collection, originally scheduled to be released on April 14th, was postponed due to the death of Prince Philip. The brand finally presented the new collection at an online event last night after the funeral.
Creative Director Riccardo Tisci combines his love for nature with his respect for strong women, designing a collection of autumn and winter outfits that are both tough and gentle.
Riccardo Tisci describes his Burberry 2021 autumn/winter collection as a “love letter to women,” incorporating simple clothing silhouettes with elements of art and craftsmanship. Riccardo deconstructs and reassembles the British flag in different designs, introducing several tough military-style jackets that inject a sense of authority and power, interpreting the characteristics of women in the new era.
In addition to powerful elements, Riccardo cleverly incorporates details that symbolize the gentle side of women, such as soft-touch faux fur and irregular swaying hemlines, balancing the sleek design with flowing lines to create a modern feminine charm that is both strong and soft.
