The number of times on the CHANEL T stage is more than Karl’s beloved cat! What is the background of this little dog?

The T-stage of Chanel is the dream stage for all models. Being able to step into the Grand Palais in Paris to walk for CHANEL is a recognition of ability, popularity, and value, definitely a symbol of “success”! While global models aspire to walk the CHANEL runway as the ultimate goal, a little dog effortlessly becomes a frequent guest on the brand’s T-stage, appearing more times in fashion shows than a group of top fashion supermodels, and even more than the late brand creative director Karl Lagerfeld’s beloved cat Choupette!

This “world’s most fashionable little dog” is named Frickey, and his “dad” is CHANEL’s stage designer Stefan Lubrina. Frickey has become a regular at CHANEL’s runway over the years thanks to his “father”. Both the star models on stage and the staff behind the scenes all know him, and of course, he is also Karl’s furry friend, deeply loved by Karl.

Frickey’s “dad” Stefan Lubrina has created countless classic scenes for CHANEL over the years, allowing the designer’s boundless creativity to break geographical boundaries and be presented at the Grand Palais in Paris. From the 2012 autumn/winter show with the Crystal Palace as the backdrop to the 2021 spring/summer presentation with a Hollywood theme, Frickey has always been there to support his dad.

His little paw prints are all over many CHANEL shows, including “Iceberg Village” for Fall 2019, “Southern France Beach” for Spring 2019, “Rocket Launch Site” for Fall 2017, etc. He is definitely a staple at Chanel shows, and describing Frickey as the “most stylish dog in history” couldn’t be more fitting!
