After the online presentations of Resort 2021 and Fall 2020 Couture, CHANEL finally returned to the familiar stage: the Grand Palais in Paris, for the 2021 Spring/Summer collection show. Creative Director Virginie Viard brought a Hollywood vibe to the runway, creating a “CHANEL” reminiscent of the famous Hollywood Sign in Los Angeles against a pure white background, presenting the seasonal theme in a simple and direct way.
At the beginning of the press conference, Virginie presented several black and white floral maxi dresses, whether off-shoulder, cap-sleeve, or cold-shoulder designs all incorporated bow and ruffle details, giving an overall gentle and elegant feel, opening the series with a likable prelude.
After the feminine floral dress, Virginie began to move towards a more neutral style, drawing inspiration from men’s three-piece suits and leather jackets to create oversized jackets with rounded shoulders, paired with sleek trousers, presenting a strong and handsome yet gentle neutral temperament.
The movie-themed series, of course, is not without movie elements. Applying neon effects reminiscent of watching ads to the CHANEL logo, and incorporating them into t-shirts, the design is fashionable and easy to mix and match. It is believed that it will become a hot item for the coming season! In addition to eye-catching neon printed patterns, Virginie has also incorporated the CHANEL logo into multiple t-shirts and knitwear, adding details such as pearls and chains, making them essential versatile pieces for everyone’s daily wear.
In addition to the T-shirts with full fashion sense, CHANEL’s 2021 spring/summer collection also features a large number of elegant and noble designs. Pink and cream-colored vest sets, exquisitely crafted lace skirts, and classic black and white designs with light and soft feather elements, perfectly embody the elegant and intellectual female protagonists in French films!
