Dior 2021 Spring/Summer Collection: Floating Between Reality and Romance

An out-of-control epidemic has changed the entire fashion ecosystem, prompting many designers to reflect and find new design inspiration. Dior‘s creative director for women’s wear, Maria Grazia Chiuri, is one of them. This season, Maria has brought a new design that caters to women’s body shapes, reflecting social changes or responding to current social phenomena.

The impact of the epidemic on lifestyle and fashion trends has deeply affected Maria. She transforms the creative writing of female poets, intellectuals, and writers into tailoring and clothing, creating a new series that refreshes the senses while continuing the brand’s tradition. The most impressive of these is the redesigned Bar Jacket, where Maria adds straps to the Bar Jacket, injecting a whole new feeling into this piece that debuted in the 1957 autumn/winter haute couture collection with Japan as the design concept.

Maria Grazia Chiuri further transforms men’s shirts into wide-cut tops or jumpsuits, adding a fresh twist to the classic silhouette of the shirt.

In addition, of course, Maria’s specialty: elegant chiffon maxi dresses! The colors are mainly in soft matte blue, deep ocher yellow, and light orange, with embroidered beads embellishing the chiffon, perfectly presenting the unique gentle and elegant feeling of women! Paired with tie-dye, cashew flower prints, and floral patterned scarves, with pleats and low-waist techniques at the waist, creating a romantic and stylish effect.
