2021 Spring/Summer New York Fashion Week: The Positive Influence of Fashion Tom Ford

As the chairman of CFDA, the organizer of New York Fashion Week, Tom Ford moved his personal brand’s 2021 spring/summer show from the runway to the official online platform of New York Fashion Week, Runway360. Tom Ford, who has been working from home for a long time due to the pandemic, faced a period of confusion in his design career. The pandemic made him doubt the importance of fashion, and even made him consider giving up this series.

However, as the epidemic slows down and life returns to normal, Tom Ford has regained the joy of dressing up in daily social interactions. He also feels everyone’s anticipation and joy of being able to dress up and go out again, inspiring him to design a 2021 spring/summer collection themed around “expectations for happy times.”

Tom Ford drew design inspiration from the fashion illustrator Antonio Lopez, whose documentary he enjoyed during the pandemic, incorporating elements from 70s models Pat Cleveland and Donna Jordon into his Spring/Summer 2021 collection. The collection features bold and vibrant botanical prints, animal patterns, and tie-dye elements, all paired with highly saturated colors and daring, sensual cuts, creating a joyful, relaxed, and positively energetic series!
