Under the shadow of the COVID-19 pandemic, most fashion brands have turned to other digital forms to showcase their new collections. Physical fashion shows have become even more precious as a result. Under strict government health and safety measures, Dolce & Gabbana moved their grand show to Florence, symbolizing the Renaissance era, and chose the garden of Villa Bardini as the venue, impressing everyone with such a magnificent and luxurious environment. Accompanied by the dreamy and lively music composed by Italian composer Nino Rota, models slowly descended the stone steps adorned with floral decorations, showcasing 89 stunning and perfectly crafted haute couture pieces that embody traditional Italian craftsmanship.

A series of clothing explores the diverse facets of Italy, with designers Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana drawing inspiration from the 16th century and the Italian Renaissance. During this historical period, a group of Italian craftsmen and tailors used the simplest everyday materials or discarded materials such as wine coconuts, coral, stones, etc., and combined them with creativity to create works of art, thus giving birth to the concept of Arte Povera. In this creation, the brand also applied this concept, using different natural, primitive materials to create clothing with rich visual effects, such as jumpsuits made of crochet craftsmanship and wine coconut weaving, and bustier dresses made of dozens of golden rooster feathers, giving them a highly historical and artistic beauty.

Aside from the original design style, the series also includes clothing that exudes the elegant atmosphere of the Renaissance period. Inspired by the iconic costumes of the golden age of Italian culture at Cinecittà, they have a silhouette rich in retro flavors of the 50s and 60s, such as the classic three-dimensional floral embroidery gown worn by Italian national treasure Sofia Loren, the golden lace dress worn by Elizabeth Taylor in Cleopatra, and the black velvet high-slit evening gown worn by Anita Ekberg. The series even uses watercolor paintings to depict the cityscapes of Italy on evening dresses, combined with materials like chiffon, organza, and soft colors, creating an overall look filled with a strong and elegant Italian charm.

After the grand fashion show, the brand specifically arranged a cocktail party and fireworks display section, allowing guests to relax in such a tense moment, and also promote elements other than Italian fashion and traditional craftsmanship, such as food, wine, etc., allowing Italian culture to permeate everywhere.
