The charm of classical enamel! Loewe’s Chinese monochrome enamel series interprets the color charm of the blending of ancient and modern arts.

Loewe, led by Creative Director Jonathan Anderson, showcases a fashionably humorous face with new technologies, innovative thinking, and surreal imagination of daily life as its design language, exploring endless creative possibilities. Loewe’s handbags have always been popular choices, with the brand injecting new elements into bag designs each season, now introducing the latest Chinese monochrome glaze series.

The monochrome glaze ceramic firing technique requires very strict requirements, and the refinement is continuously passed down through generations of techniques, in order to achieve a subtle and elegant color full of the charm of nature, like ripe fruit or the clear sky after the rain. Loewe’s latest Chinese monochrome glaze series draws inspiration from the monochrome glaze ceramic craftsmanship of the Ming and Qing dynasties, and, like Chinese monochrome glaze ceramics, is based on craftsmanship, incorporating colors from antique monochrome ceramics into several classic bag designs.

The China Monochrome Glaze series includes several classic bag styles Puzzle, Hammock, Goya, Bracelet Pouch, Luna, and Flamenco handbags, as well as accessories such as small elephant hanging bags, card holders, and pendants. The delicate colors of light tomato purple, tea dust, and pink green are used, and each handbag comes with a ceramic rabbit pendant in the same color scheme, adding a playful detail. The design showcases the charm and appeal of colors, blending ancient and modern arts.

It is worth mentioning that Loewe has specially produced a short film introducing the historical, cultural, and artistic value of these Chinese monochrome glazed ceramics, with speakers including ceramicist Deng Xiping and Natasha Daintry, as well as Professor and researcher Wang Guangyao from the Palace Museum in Beijing. The brand will also sponsor a new monochrome glazed ceramic education program at Jingdezhen Ceramic University, located in the thousand-year-old porcelain capital of Jingdezhen, with the aim of promoting and preserving the ancient ceramic craftsmanship culture. It is currently the only undergraduate college in China that offers a ceramic discipline.
