Givenchy, as a special guest at the 2019 Florence International Men’s Fashion Show, released a new exclusive collaboration series with the Japanese brand Onitsuka Tiger, the exquisite and luxurious appearance seems to foreshadow the next frenzy of purchases.
This collaboration witnessed both brands making their “firsts”: Onitsuka Tiger’s first collaboration with a high-end fashion brand; Givenchy’s first global partnership with another sneaker brand. This cross-border collaboration between Japanese and French brands did not disappoint, as the new sneaker “MEXICO 66™ GDX” is truly stunning.
The “MEXICO 66™ GDX” takes the classic style of “MEXICO 66™” as a blueprint, combining leather craftsmanship and high fashion design to create two new versions this time. The all-white version is adorned with the brand’s Onitsuka Tiger claw pattern and “Givenchy” logo, balancing style and luxury; the black version features red and white Givenchy details, simple and handsome. Both versions of the sneakers have the words “Givenchy – Onitsuka Tiger” printed on the tongue, like a commemorative symbol of the unprecedented collaboration between the two brands, also reflecting the exchange of cultures between the two countries.
Two new sneakers will be available for purchase on June 13th at selected Onitsuka Tiger and Givenchy flagship stores worldwide, as well as on www.givenchy.com and designated online social platforms.
