Under the direction of Jonathan Anderson, Loewe combines avant-garde style, intellect, and craftsmanship, with art often serving as its creative inspiration. For the Spring/Summer 2024 women’s collection, Jonathan Anderson collaborated with American sculptor master Lynda Benglis to not only plan the brand’s exhibition space but also to design jewelry pieces together.
Born in Lake Charles, Louisiana, USA in 1941, Lynda Benglis is a heavyweight figure in the post-war American sculpture art scene and one of the most influential artists today. Engaged in creative work for over sixty years, she continuously explores and innovates the concepts of art forms and material characteristics, using diverse materials such as polyurethane, latex, gold powder, paper, plaster, bronze, and water for her creations. She also constantly challenges the inherent ideas of sculpture creation, with her sculptures transforming ideas as they interact with the surrounding environment.

Lynda Benglis designed a total of twenty jewelry pieces for Loewe’s Spring/Summer 2024 women’s collection, inspired by wearable sculptures. Lynda Benglis has always been passionate about exploring the possibilities of materials and techniques, bending, knotting, folding, pouring, and squeezing materials to shape them. In her studio in Santa Fe, Mexico, she uses materials such as foil, metal mesh, clay, metal wire, and polyurethane to create jewelry models, which are then transformed into rings, bracelets, brooches, earrings, and pendants made of 18K gold, sterling silver, aluminum, enamel, and crystals, each piece being a wearable piece of art.
