Spring and summer are the seasons of blooming flowers, sometimes noble and elegant, sometimes sweet and charming flowers, bringing vitality and healing to everyone. Christian Louboutin’s 2024 spring/summer collection specially invited Japanese artist Shun Sudo to collaborate, turning shoes and leather goods into canvases, blending Sudo’s button flower patterns with pop art techniques to present a series of colorful limited editions!
Shun Sudo from Tokyo is a contemporary artist who crosses boundaries, using skills he self-taught while traveling the world to create paintings, sculptures, and sketches. His work is inspired by traditional Japanese painting and ink wash painting, as well as influenced by American popular culture, modern, and contemporary artists. Many of his works also reflect his desire to connect with the public through art, together pioneering a more beautiful and peaceful world.
Since designer Christian Louboutin entered the design world, he has often used the tricolor violet, and the brand’s first red-soled shoes are also named after it. Toshio Shudo’s work also features a signature flower – the button flower, which has become the focus of this collaboration series.
This limited edition series combines the pop art technique with the button flower pattern of Shun Sudo and the CL brand logo, embellishing the lively and playful MISS JANE high heels, as well as a variety of leather goods and accessories, injecting bright colors into the spring and summer styles. The ADOLON sneakers also feature Shun Sudo’s iconic floral pattern, with eye-catching Loubi red groove details inside the shoes, perfectly complementing and accentuating the classic red leather soles.
