Crafted World exhibition in Shanghai by Loewe, a journey of craftsmanship exploration!

Founded in Madrid in 1846 as a leather craft cooperative, Loewe, with a 178-year history of creativity and craftsmanship innovation, has always placed craftsmanship at the core of the brand, an important soul. Recently, the brand announced that this spring, it will hold its first large-scale “Crafted World” exhibition at the Shanghai Exhibition Center, showcasing the brand’s rich history, Spanish cultural traditions, and promoting a passion for handcrafting, leading the audience into the world of Loewe’s craftsmanship.

This exhibition is named “Crafted World,” curated by Loewe’s creative director Jonathan Anderson, focusing on art and culture, interpreting the brand’s history from its origins in 1846 as a leather craft cooperative in Madrid to its development into one of today’s top international luxury fashion brands through classic designs and cultural collaboration projects, leading the audience on a journey of craftsmanship exploration.

The “Crafted World” exhibition elaborates on the brand’s history, showcasing the brand’s avant-garde and innovative attitude in promoting fashion creativity and craftsmanship culture for over a hundred years.

    This exhibition covers more than 1,600 square meters and can be seen as an interactive journey through time, space, materials, and production techniques. With a variety of crafts and artworks on display, it allows visitors to experience the vibrancy of Spain, similar to admiring new fashion designs in the front row of a Paris fashion show. The exhibition also features several exciting interactive galleries, each transformed into the inspiration for Loewe’s latest series. Additionally, the exhibition tells stories about the joy of craftsmanship: artisans and units collaborating with Loewe come from around the world, including ribbon artisans from India, tapestry craftsmen from Ecuador, basket weavers from South Africa, and bamboo craftsmen from China, revealing the intricate processes involved in Loewe’s classic designs through behind-the-scenes footage.

    The “Crafted World” exhibition will be held from March 22 to May 5, free admission, open to the public, and will then move overseas for an international tour.
