Prada Group’s Marketing Director, Lorenzo Bertelli, said, “We are honored to collaborate with AxiomSpace on this historic mission. The brand, originally designing equipment for the LunaRossa sailing team in the America’s Cup in the 1990s, now applies decades of experimental spirit, advanced technology, and design expertise to the spacesuit designed for the ‘Artemis’ project, celebrating the power of human creativity and innovation in advancing civilization.”
Prada has a professional expertise in handling raw materials. This time, the brand’s engineers are collaborating with the Axiom Space system team throughout the design process to research solutions for materials and design features, in order to address the challenges posed by the special environments of space and the moon. It is known that Axiom Space suits have evolved from the design of the Exploration Extravehicular Mobility Unit (xEMU) spacesuit, providing greater flexibility, enhanced resistance to harsh environments, and equipped with special tools for exploration and scientific investigation. Through the adoption of innovative technology and design, lunar surface exploration is reaching unprecedented stages.
This collaboration has written a new chapter in both human exploration of space and the development of fashion brands. If you are interested in learning more about spacesuit design, it is worth paying close attention!
