Sofia Coppola draws inspiration from Priscilla Presley’s image style, charm, and personality, and showcases her sensitive and slightly rock-inspired elegance with her cat-eye eyeliner, high back-combed voluminous hairstyle, and straight dress.
Virginie Viard based the wedding dress worn by Priscilla when she married Elvis in 1967 and recreated it for the wedding scene of Cailee Spaeny and Elvis in the film. Inspired by the style of Chanel’s 2020 Spring/Summer Haute Couture collection, the dress was made in collaboration with Chanel’s Haute Couture studio and fashion workshop, and paired with a veil and hair crown embroidered by Atelier Montex. The film also features other Chanel treasures, including a bottle of Chanel N°5 perfume that Priscilla sees when she moves into Graceland, symbolizing her new identity and mature femininity.
