Vivienne Westwood and Eastpak once again collaborate to launch a joint series, blending their DNA together to bring unique and practical bags.
The focus of this collection is the custom “Planets” print, designed by Australian designer Andreas Kronthaler, which made its debut at the Vivienne Westwood Spring/Summer 2019 fashion show. The print is inspired by the “Saturn Return,” which according to astrology, occurs when Saturn returns to the same celestial longitude it occupied at the time of a person’s birth. Saturn Return happens approximately every 30 years, and individuals experience it multiple times throughout their lives, representing periods of significant change or transformation. The “Planets” print, with Saturn as its focal point, also implies that we need to make significant changes in the way we treat the Earth.
This collaboration series includes backpacks, Tote Bags, crossbody bags, and other styles. In addition to being durable and practical in design, they are all made from recycled polyester fibers and support “Cool Earth,” a charity dedicated to protecting endangered rainforests, addressing global warming, assisting ecosystems, and supporting local employment.
The Jessice backpack combines a handbag and backpack design, with a large handle, making it a versatile backpack. The Padded backpack is a classic style from Eastpak, with a shape that has been used since 1976. The main compartment has an inner pocket for a laptop, and the back is padded with cushioned shoulder straps, ensuring comfort even during long outdoor activities. As for the Tote Bag, it has a large capacity, making it suitable for trips of 2 to 3 days.
The Vivienne Westwood x Eastpak collaboration series is now available at Vivienne Westwood stores. Don’t miss out on getting a stylish and practical bag!
