Every year, the fashion industry sees the emergence of brands big and small, and even collaborations across different fields. In recent years, the line between high-end fashion and street culture has become blurred, with the two moving closer to each other. Most recently, Matthew M. Williams, the creative director of Givenchy, teamed up with designer Takahashi Shield from Undercover to create a limited edition T-shirt. With the strong appeal of both brands, it is believed that this collaboration will cause a buying frenzy!
The collaboration came about to celebrate the opening of Givenchy’s independent flagship store in Tokyo, located in the upscale shopping mall GINZA SIX. Creative Director Matthew M. Williams specially invited Jun Takahashi, the Creative Director of streetwear brand Undercover, to collaborate on designing a limited edition T-shirt.

Matthew M. Williams said, “Jun Takahashi has been a great inspiration to me. Besides fashion, he also explores various creative mediums such as painting, sculpture, and music, becoming my role model. Creativity knows no bounds, and there are no margins, restrictions, or labels. Jun Takahashi and his works are deeply connected to culture, and designers who are related to music, art, and culture are the driving force that inspired me to enter the fashion industry.”
This limited edition T-shirt is available in black and white, combining the iconic elements of both Undercover and Givenchy. You can see the classic Undercover bear pattern combined with Givenchy’s iconic 4G logo. This limited design is extremely rare and will be exclusively released at Givenchy GINZA SIX on August 26th. It is already expected that there will be long queues at the venue, so it seems that a bit of luck is needed for those who want to get their hands on it!
