Korean singer G-Dragon has always been a fashion trendsetter, and any item he endorses is sure to become popular. Following the success of the Nike Air Force 1 “Para-noise” collaboration in 2019 and 2020, as well as the Nike Kwondo 1 in 2021, G-Dragon and Nike have once again teamed up this year to release a new Nike Kwondo 1 series. In addition to new shoe colors, they are also introducing a clothing collection for the first time, with a focus on sports, freedom, and practicality.

G-DRAGON hopes that the new collection will continue to evoke a sense of freedom for each wearer, encouraging the next generation to pursue their dreams by staying true to themselves and surpassing their imagination. Kwondo 1 is named after the Korean martial art Taekwondo and G-Dragon’s Korean name “Kwon Ji Yong”. The design is inspired by the power and beauty emitted by Taekwondo, with the “Do” in the Taekwondo uniform “Do-bok” meaning “direction” and “Bok” meaning “clothing”.
The appeal of the Nike Kwondo 1 shoe lies in its ability to balance the aesthetics of formal wear and sportswear, allowing for a versatile style. The design retains the smooth silhouette characteristic of formal leather shoes, with elements inspired by the brogue detailing of Oxford shoes. The heel of the shoe is embroidered with the iconic daisy pattern representing G-DRAGON’s brand, PEACEMINUSONE, along with signature details such as the removable tongue and lace. The new color scheme is black and white, with white as the main color. The Nike Swoosh Logo, heel, and lace holes are presented in black, creating a striking contrast style.
As for the clothing collection, it includes trousers, long-sleeved T-shirts, loose-cut jackets, and vest jackets. Nike and G-DRAGON’s brand PEACEMINUSONE logo, as well as the iconic daisy pattern, are combined with embroidery and silk screen printing, showcasing attention to detail with metal buckles. The loose and kimono-style jacket can be worn separately with the vest, and the belt on the trousers can be connected to an accessory waist bag.
