Fashion often goes beyond showcasing creative and exquisite tailoring techniques; designers also use their designs to convey messages to the world. In the 2023 Spring/Summer collection, Japanese designer Atsuro Tayama conveys the concept of “Share Your Love” through his latest collaboration series, reminding everyone to minimize harm to the Earth, help vulnerable communities, support the inheritance of traditional craftsmanship, and spread “love”.
The new season kicks off with a collaboration with HERALBONY, an art lifestyle brand from Iwate Prefecture, Japan. The founder’s brother is a person with autism and intellectual disabilities. He believes that individuals with intellectual disabilities, despite having certain physical and mental challenges, can still express colors through their abilities. Therefore, he established an art brand that specializes in planning amateur works, signing contracts with multiple intellectually disabled but artistically talented creators, and owning over a thousand collected works.
This collaboration series has selected the work “FREE TIME” by creator KAORU IGA. Although he is a person with autism, he enjoys interacting with people and trying new things. He expresses himself through his artwork and music. “FREE TIME” creates works with different thicknesses, textures, and colors, expressing Mr. IGA’s unique style through his brushstrokes.

The “print” of the collaboration series is intentionally presented with Mr. Iga’s artwork, showing that creativity knows no boundaries and includes infinite possibilities. In line with the brand’s design philosophy of “simplicity, comfort, and diverse matching,” it presents trench coat and top designs with soft materials, neat tailoring, a balance of strength and softness, and elements of fashion and practicality.
It is worth mentioning that the proceeds from this collaboration will be donated to support intellectually disabled individuals in Japan, after deducting HERALBONY company’s operational expenses, allowing them to have more opportunities to express themselves in society.
