Belgian designer Raf Simons recently announced on social media the unexpected closure of his personal eponymous brand, which had been in operation for 27 years, leaving many fashion enthusiasts feeling regretful. Before the brand’s end, it is believed that they have released their final collaboration collection, a limited edition series created in collaboration with renowned Hong Kong photographer Wing Shya.
This collaboration project was conceived and facilitated by local renowned brand JOYCE, and jointly created by Belgian fashion designer Raf Simons and Hong Kong photographer Wing Shya. Together, they have crafted a global exclusive limited edition collection consisting of five unique pieces.
The series is directed by Wong Kar-wai, a giant in the Hong Kong film industry, and features the iconic film “Happy Together” starring superstars Leslie Cheung and Tony Leung. The main design is based on stills from the classic film “Happy Together,” and includes tees, hoodies, and tote bags. In addition to the stills, the film’s title “Happy Together” is adorned on the sleeves. Raf Simons and Wong Kar-wai pay tribute to the lovers of Buenos Aires through the fusion of Eastern and Western creativity and culture.
