Marc Jacobs reissues the Classic Q handbag, with rock band Sonic Youth’s Kim Gordon and CoCo Moore rebelliously interpreting it.

Marc Jacobs has always had a deep collaboration with Sonic Youth’s Kim Gordon, and after a 6-year hiatus, Marc Jacobs once again invited Kim Gordon and her daughter CoCo Moore to collaborate on the global advertising campaign for the brand’s new collection.

When it comes to the collaboration between Marc Jacobs and Kim Gordon, it all started back in 1993. At that time, Marc Jacobs drew inspiration from Kim Gordon and boldly incorporated elements of “garage rock” into the American national brand Perry Ellies. Then in 1998, Kim Gordon appeared for the first time as a model in photographer Juergen Teller’s first ad for Marc Jacobs, and later appeared with her daughter CoCo Moore in the brand’s Fall 2015 Runway show. From the past to the present, Kim Gordon and Marc Jacobs have been together for over a decade, this time continuing their inspiration in a new way in the collision and fusion, interpreting the new M-ARCHIVES series of bags.

The new advertising campaign series is shot by Nick Sethi, styled by Malina Joseph Gilchrist, with Kim Gordan and CoCo Moore wearing zebra print jumpsuits to showcase this season’s key bag collection, the Classic Q series. The Classic Q series was launched by Marc By Marc Jacobs in 2007, and this year marks its 15th anniversary. Marc Jacobs has specially reissued the Classic Q series with a modern spirit, redesigning it into the new M-ARCHIVES series. Crafted with soft and textured leather, the collection includes the Hillier Hobo, Lil Ukita, Mini Natasha, and Karlie in various sizes, adorned with the M-ARCHIVES gold logo on the bags. These practical bags come with detachable and adjustable shoulder straps, perfectly showcasing a classic vintage style.
