British actress Maisie Williams, who played “Arya Stark” in the hit series “Game of Thrones,” has always been passionate about women’s issues, environmental protection, and diversity and inclusion. Recently, she was appointed as the global sustainability ambassador for H&M, launching a worldwide initiative to encourage society to reuse, remake, and recycle discarded clothing, paving the way for a sustainable fashion future.
The purpose of the H&M Group’s global initiative is to achieve 100% the use of recycled materials or other materials from sustainable sources by 2030, in order to promote environmental protection. H&M is collaborating with Maisie Williams to promote various projects centered around a circular business model, including the launch of “Avatar Maisie” created by Goodbye Kansas Studio’s 3D animators. “She” will appear at different events to interact with H&M’s customers.
In addition, H&M has also launched “H&M Looop Island” in the game “Animal Crossing: New Horizons,” with sustainability as the theme. The name of this island comes from H&M’s recent clothing recycling system “Looop,” which turns recycled old clothes into brand new clothing.
