Gucci Since Alessandro Michele joined, he has continuously crossed the boundaries between tradition and innovation, unleashing his wild imagination, thus bringing many unconventional design philosophies. He values tradition and history, and incorporates them into bold and playful designs, as you will see several special projects showcased at Gucci’s 2020-21 Fall/Winter fashion show in Milan. Among them, the most eye-catching is the creative collaboration with the British fabric design and retail brand Liberty London, bringing the Gucci Liberty series of vintage floral prints, bringing back the trend of Liberty’s floral prints!
The series of products is rich and diverse, including clothing, handbags, accessories, and footwear, all featuring large Liberty decorative text, exuding a nostalgic touch. Retaining the Grunge style and sense of fashion. Before designing the collaboration series, Alessandro Michele first studied the Liberty archives, searching for lesser-known designs, conveying memories from the past to the present, and hoping to awaken those who see Liberty prints as memories.
The women’s collection features a variety of floral print dresses, with the classic style being a flowing large round neck chiffon and knee-length dress. The series also includes camisoles, patchwork shirts, pleated skirts, and knee-length layered skirts, all made with a combination of three Liberty prints and Gucci Flora prints; the suit sets also feature floral patterns throughout, with even the popular Gucci 1955 horsebit buckle bag adorned with floral prints and the “GUCCI LIBERTY” in a new artistic style, taking the romantic floral prints to the next level.
Men’s clothing is also designed with Liberty prints, including double-breasted coats, trousers, shorts, short jackets, long-sleeved and short-sleeved shirts of different lengths. The back of a short jacket, a pair of shorts, and a short-sleeved shirt are adorned with the words “GUCCI LIBERTY”. The Gucci Tennis 1977 sneakers, suitable for both men and women, are also refreshed by the use of Liberty prints.
The collection has been launched at Gucci stores and online. Interested friends can purchase it here.
