Acne Studios collaborates with artists to launch a series of clothing featuring dogs as the main theme, putting dogs in the spotlight!

Acne Studios’ fall/winter collection is dedicated to all dog lovers, as the brand has invited British artist Lydia Blakeley to collaborate and launch a series of clothing with added dog elements. With different designs, cuts, and materials, this season’s collection exudes endless cuteness, making it a must-have for all those who adore their furry friends!

It all started because of the creative director Johnny Johansson, who is also a loyal dog lover! He said he started raising dogs a few years ago and then fell in love with the charm of dogs. He even began to pay attention to and observe the walking posture and clothing of dog owners with a new perspective, turning these everyday life moments into his design inspiration, leading him to the idea of using furry companions as a creative theme.

Therefore, he brought in the artist Lydia Blakeley, who is famous for animal paintings, to collaborate on designing the latest collection. Lydia believes that in this digital age bombarded by images, the process of painting can transform visual language into more tangible and lasting things, so she is dedicated to recording what she sees and hears with her brush. Her creative inspiration comes from the rural environment where she lives and things she sees on the internet, with dogs making up the majority of her subjects and becoming her main focus in painting.

Lydia Blakeley hand-draws portraits of small dogs with delicate and realistic strokes, such as the compact Dachshund, the scent-sensitive Beagle, and the energetic Greyhound, and prints them on various autumn and winter clothing items, such as ribbed turtleneck sweaters, hoodies, shirts, skirts, tote bags, etc. The bright and soft colors make the originally gloomy and cold winter lively and vibrant, becoming a must-have fashion item for dog lovers.

To align with the concept of this series, Acne Studios has invited its own employees to wear the collection and feature with their beloved dogs in the advertising campaign. The campaign was shot at the brand’s headquarters at Floragatan 13 in Stockholm, and was directed by Swedish photographer Anders Edström. The main characters include Global Wholesale Director Pontus Björkman and his dog Kenzo, Global Communications Director Edouard Schneider and his Mini Dachshund Pumba, among others. They simply share their relationship with their pets, showcasing their excellent understanding and deep bond with their “best human companions.”
