The Chanel 2020/21 Cruise collection show, originally scheduled to take place on May 7th on the island of Capri in southern Italy, was changed to a global online live stream yesterday due to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic. The traditional model of models walking the runway to showcase new designs was completely revamped, with edited videos being released instead, allowing viewers to appreciate the product details from multiple angles and up close, refreshing everyone’s impression of a fashion show!
The latest collection is themed “Balade en Méditerranée,” meaning a stroll in the Mediterranean. Virginie Viard took inspiration from the scenery of Capri Island to create a total of 51 elegant and comfortable looks, full of a sense of leisure! In addition to the classic black and white designs, Virginie also incorporated casual denim elements, the essential blue and white stripes of the sea, the pink hues commonly found in floral seas, and the gradual yellow gradient of sunrise and sunset on the coast, making each look seem to smell the scent of the Mediterranean sea breeze.
Virginie brings the concept of “traveling light” to everyone, with just one suitcase, a large shopping tote bag, exquisite embroidered handbags and clothing, you can easily embark on an elegant and casual journey to the Mediterranean.
