Inventory of AK’s work in the past six months shows that whether as a singer or actor, he has been quite productive, releasing new songs, the MIRROR concert, the movie “12 Thieves,” and the TV series “Da Tian Xia 2″… At the same time, he also has to take care of his personal brand, and recently he has been busy preparing for his first solo concert. Although his life with multiple careers is extremely busy, it is also incredibly fulfilling.
“Not everyone can turn their interests into a job, so being able to continue to be busy with things they love every day is something to be grateful for. There will definitely be difficult parts, but more importantly, there is enjoyment.” He said, if you really feel tired and can’t take it anymore, just go home and hug your dog, do something completely unrelated to work; or go out for a walk, absorb some sunshine. In his sixth year in the industry, it seems that AK in front of him is growing and evolving again.
Art knows no right or wrong
In my mind, art has never been about right or wrong. Everyone can have different opinions on the same thing, like you can think my song is good, or you can think it’s not good, it’s a very personal matter.
At this stage, what he pursues in art is to transform the nutrients, experiences, feelings, or worldview he has absorbed in life into works and present them to everyone. If he is fortunate enough to resonate with someone, that is already enough. When asked about the artist who inspires him the most, he smiled after thinking for a moment, and finally mentioned the name “Lokman”. “To be honest, he has unique insights in both music and dance, so in my eyes, he is an artist and someone I really admire.”
Maintenance of Knowledge
Just released a new song “False Trailer” composed with Jay Fung, AK revealed that this work actually began to take shape two years ago, but due to various reasons, it has been shelved until now. “At that time, I had a sudden idea to write a melody, and then, I don’t know where the courage came from, boldly sent a message to Jay Fung asking if he was interested in writing together, and he readily agreed.”
After successfully completing the music part, he invited Oscar to write the lyrics. The reason for naming it “Fake Movie Trailer” is because they feel that the beginning of a love story is actually quite similar to a movie trailer.
“Just like how movies always put the most exciting content in the trailer, many people have endless fantasies before starting a relationship. But if you don’t enter the theater to watch it, you won’t know if it’s good or bad, or if it will end badly.”
Therefore, he believes that everyone should still give it a try, but be careful not to be blinded by the initial sweetness, but to think clearly and calmly whether the other person is suitable. In this song, his favorite line is “The excitement is just a preview, destiny cannot be rewritten.” Maintaining a relationship is a profound knowledge, to ensure that the story unfolds as brightly as the preview, ultimately depends on the efforts of both parties.
Game of Life
“I like to watch those very passionate mainstream comics, like Digimon, One Piece, and Naruto, which have had a deep impact on me. The male protagonists in these works are very determined and brave in pursuing what they want to do, and I am attracted to such values.” The personal concert to be held at the end of July will be themed “games,” stemming from his love for games and the anime world since childhood, and also metaphorically representing the various aspects he has presented since his debut. Although they may seem like different characters, each one is actually the most authentic version of himself.
He once wrote a sentence as a concert promotion – “Life is like playing a game. As long as you don’t give up, you will have a chance to win.” He said that this is the life philosophy he has recently begun to truly understand, in simple terms, it is to take time and be patient.
“I used to always focus on the results, but often overlooked the scenery and details along the way. Life is actually a bit like a game, as long as it’s still running, many things can continue to happen. Cherish the opportunities to keep playing, because if it’s game over, that’s when you’ll truly regret it.”
The Importance of Teaming Up
Game over is indeed a problem, but on the journey of passing through each difficult level, it also requires a strong heart to overcome. AK said that he is not someone who gives up easily, but he also won’t tough it out alone. For him, the best way to face challenges is to team up! “After entering the industry, I found that there are many things that I can’t figure out or handle, and I would get stuck. Fortunately, I have a group of good friends around me, I know they will always be by my side, so I usually go to them whenever I have something.”
One person may not be able to solve what seems unsolvable, but with two or three people, it becomes much easier. Among teammates, the one who often plays the role of his rescuer is team leader Lokman. “When my mind is in chaos, he always manages to set me straight. Alton and Tiger are also quick to notice when I have a problem, and then we all discuss and solve it together.”
Let go of attachments
Over the past five years, I have indeed experienced many trust issues, so now my view on trust is that it is important to learn to leave sincerity to those who treat you sincerely. Looking back on my past self, he said he could probably be described as “young and impulsive.” Constantly receiving information from the outside without filtering and reacting, so he often clashed. After turning thirty, he jokingly said that besides having more wrinkles, he has also matured a lot, seen through a lot of things, and is no longer as impulsive as before.
“I used to be very fixated on some meaningless things, then magnified them, trying to seek a so-called fair or unfair answer. But later I found that fairness actually does not exist in this world. Sometimes, accepting, filtering, not reacting is actually a choice, which is one of the small gains I have had in recent years.”
He said that everyone will have their own regrets, but it depends on how you make up for them. Some things, once done, are done, and indeed in the past. What matters most is how to move forward afterwards. Personal growth comes from accumulation. When you meet more people, you understand more things, naturally you will start to be less persistent, and you will also be relatively calmer in handling things. This is his greatest growth in the past five years, and he hopes to show his evolved version AK to his fans through this personal concert.
