The Christie’s “Precious Jewels: Hong Kong” spring auction will be held at the Asia headquarters in the West Kowloon Cultural District on March 28, featuring a carefully curated selection of branded jewelry. Christie’s Hong Kong jewelry department director, Chen Zhiqing, stated: “In response to the strong market demand for rare colored diamonds, this season’s auction has specially collected a series of GIA-certified colored diamonds, with a highlight being a 15.51-carat fancy vivid yellow diamond with a rare round brilliant cut diamond ring. Also not to be missed are exquisite jewels for collectors, including untreated Burmese rubies, Colombian emeralds, and antique jewelry from renowned brands such as Bvlgari, Cartier, and Van Cleef & Arpels. The highly sought-after natural red spinel and Paraiba tourmaline by jewelry enthusiasts will also be the focus of this auction.”

This season’s jewelry auction is led by a 15.51-carat fancy vivid yellow diamond ring, featuring a rare round brilliant cut typically resulting in significant material loss during the cutting process. Given the high value of fancy colored diamonds, cutters often opt for cutting styles that maximize yield. This piece combines a unique cut with intense color, making it highly collectible. Another highlight is a 1.38-carat cushion-shaped fancy vivid purplish pink diamond. Pink diamonds over one carat are extremely rare, and this piece with a purplish hue exudes feminine elegance. The pink diamond is complemented by pink sapphires and diamonds in a spiral design, dazzling from every angle. Also featured is a 2.65-carat intense orange-pink diamond ring, with the orange hue adding warmth, truly a marvel of nature.
