The highly anticipated Tiffany & Co. annual Blue Book high jewelry collection, named “Out of the Blue” this year, takes inspiration from legendary designer Jean Schlumberger’s fascination with marine treasures. Through the depiction of abstract geometric aesthetics, it brings the mysterious ocean into the dazzling world of jewelry.
“Blue Book 2023: Out of the Blue” is divided into two phases and is themed around different marine ecosystems. The first seven summer themes include: Shell, Coral, Pisces, Jellyfish, Starfish, Sea Star, and Star Urchin. The designs are vibrant and vivid, perfectly showcasing the unique charm of the underwater world.

As the first senior jewelry collection curated after joining, Tiffany & Co.’s Jewelry and Fine Jewelry Chief Artistic Director, Nathalie Verdeille, shares: “Through the 2023 Blue Book series, we inject new life into Jean Schlumberger’s renowned designs and pay tribute to his legacy. We firmly believe that he would also greatly appreciate the refreshed collection, which maintains its unique qualities and personality.”
One of the highlights of the collection is the pendant from the “Shell” series. The shell-shaped design is very three-dimensional, allowing everyone to explore the creatures shaped and nurtured by the ocean. The pendant is set with a captivating black opal that is over one carat in size and can be detached to become a diamond brooch, making the design versatile and flexible.
The characteristic of Coral is its brilliant colors, and various types of jewelry showcase the charm of tanzanite, sapphire, and yellow diamonds.
The brooch of Jellyfish emits an elegant and ethereal glow, showcasing the graceful posture of the jellyfish’s tentacles.
The iconic Starfish shape is presented in a refreshing way, with designs featuring opal, aquamarine, sapphire, and turquoise adorned with diamond accents. The intricately set diamond design depicts the image of a starfish entwined among rocks, perfectly showcasing the unique side of the starfish.
