Japanese legendary music master Ryuichi Sakamoto fought against cancer for nearly 10 years and passed away on March 28th of this year at a hospital in Tokyo, at the age of 71. Although the music he created will not disappear with his departure, fans around the world are still deeply saddened by this news. While everyone has yet to fully digest this information, the professor’s management company recently updated their social media account with a post, sharing the “funeral playlist” personally curated by the music master himself.
In the final moments of his life, Sakamoto continued to dedicate himself to music creation, leaving behind his last music album “12” for the world. Last December, he also brought an exciting online concert to music fans around the globe, with lingering echoes and melodies that still touch the heart. Now, the official release of this final song list further confirms the passion that Sakamoto had for music throughout his life.
