The Venice Film Festival is officially kicking off! Check out the red carpet looks of the attending female stars.

The 77th Venice Film Festival, as the first major film event after the COVID-19 pandemic, inevitably had to embrace a new normal to prevent the spread of the virus. However, the tradition of “walking the red carpet” is still preserved, allowing participating actors to dress up carefully and shine under the spotlight. Due to filmmakers from around the world not being able to attend in person due to the pandemic, this red carpet event did not shine as brightly as before. Therefore, the focus naturally fell on the two queen-level actresses, Cate Blanchett and Tilda Swinton.

Cate Blanchett, the chair of the jury at this year’s Venice Film Festival, elegantly appeared on the red carpet in a shimmering gown from American brand Esteban Cortazar’s 2016 Spring/Summer collection. The navy blue tone made her already fair skin appear even whiter, while the waist-cut and backless design with a fishtail skirt exuded both nobility and sensuality. The most eye-catching detail was definitely the white trim on the sleeves and lower part of the dress, adding a memorable touch to the gown.

If you have an impression, you will remember that Cate Blanchett actually wore the same dress at the premiere of “Carol” at the 2015 London Film Festival, even the pair of Clergerie black high heels she wore were perfectly replicated. The difference is that Cate cut her blonde hair shorter and added a clever touch of Pomellato necklace, but the elegant temperament is no different from five years ago, even more refined, and even more relaxed.

As for the Tilda Swinton with a neutral temperament, she appeared in Chanel’s 2020 spring/summer haute couture, with a simple black and white top and a pleated chiffon layered fishtail skirt. Although simple, it best showcases her calm and ethereal temperament. Simply paired with Chanel earrings and rings, it is enough to attract everyone’s attention. This is definitely the unique charm of this “fairy goddess.”

Of course, everyone also didn’t overlook the special mask she was holding, which not only serves as a protective measure but also has a decorative effect. The mask is shaped like a butterfly and shimmers with gold, instantly adding a touch of glamour to her simple outfit, making her look like an elf holding a magic wand.

Viola Arrivabene, Ester Expósito

Other girls who attended the event naturally also put on their best fashion display. As always, classic black and white are still the most popular choices for many female celebrities. For example, designer Viola Arrivabene wore a black velvet jumpsuit from Philosophy di Lorenzo Serafini, with pearl and chiffon details adding a touch of elegance and sophistication; Spanish model and actress Ester Expósito also opted for a simple look, wearing a high-slit evening gown from Etro, exuding sensuality, and accessorizing with emerald jewelry, looking generous and elegant.

Anna Foglietta, Roberta Armani

In addition to black and white, some female stars also coincidentally chose blue-toned evening gowns like Cate Blanchett. Anna Foglietta, who was nominated for the Italian Golden Globe Awards, wore a blue-green gown from Giorgio Armani as her battle armor. The gradient skirt hem caught everyone’s attention, paired with a refreshing short hair, showcasing her noble and natural temperament. Roberta Armani also wore a gown from Armani, with relatively intricate details. The entire blue evening gown had silver lines and red gradient patterns as highlights, and the three-dimensional embellishments on the upper body added a sense of design to the overall look.

Taylor Hill, Roberta Giarrusso

Female celebrities on the red carpet are not lacking in visually impactful floral elements. The youngest Victoria’s Secret Angel in history, Taylor Hill, stunned the crowd with a uniquely tailored Etro floral maxi skirt, showcasing her perfect figure and youthful vibe. Meanwhile, Roberta Giarrusso wore a tube dress with a front short and back long design, adorned with floral patterns that exude a sense of glamour, equally eye-catching.

Vera Arrivabene, Noemi Brando

Among them, some female stars choose pants as their battle gear. Viola Arrivabene’s sister Vera, on the other hand, appeared in shiny leather jumpsuit, with wide-legged design making her legs appear longer, coupled with the deep V cut, the overall style is edgy yet sexy, catching the eye; Noemi Brando’s striped suit may not be as glamorous as other female stars, but the neutral temperament it brings out actually makes her stand out among the crowd of female stars.
