The VALENTINO 2020 early autumn collection, named “Bluegrace,” takes blue porcelain as its design inspiration. In the past, VALENTINO has often used blue porcelain as a design theme, including the 1969 autumn/winter haute couture collection and the 2014 autumn/winter collection, showing the brand’s enduring love for blue porcelain art.
Arriving in early autumn 2020, the brand once again presents this historically significant classic element. From scarves, shirts, jumpsuits to trousers, all include floral patterns from the 60s and 70s designed around blue porcelain, as well as geometric prints.
Recently, mainland Chinese actress Qin Lan, who exudes a gentle temperament, wore a Bluegrace series pearl-embroidered dress, with neat tailoring highlighting female professionalism. The lapel and puffed sleeves add visual effects to the outfit. The biggest highlight of the whole look is the irregular navy blue pattern on the pristine white top, resembling elegant blue and white porcelain from a distance, reminiscent of her noble appearance as “Empress Fucha.”
