Chanel’s former creative makeup director Lucia Pica joins Byredo!

Lucia Pica 入主 Byredo

In January 2015, makeup artist Lucia Pica joined Chanel to succeed Peter Philips as the brand’s Global Creative Makeup and Color Design Director. After serving Chanel for 6 years, the two parted ways. Recently, Lucia Pica has a new role, joining the rapidly rising and popular among the cultural elite Swedish beauty and fragrance brand Byredo as the new brand’s Creative Image and Makeup Collaborator!

Byredo has recently brought in the current red figure in the international beauty industry, Isamaya Ffrench, a post-90s slashie, to become the creative director of beauty. Although under Isamaya’s leadership, Byredo’s beauty products and advertising images have breakthrough innovative ideas and can capture the hearts of young consumers, Isamaya, as a slashie, really holds too many positions. While working for Byredo, she also serves as the Global Beauty Director of Burberry Beauty, at the same time being the brains behind two major brands, which is quite rare in the beauty industry.

Recently, Isamaya Ffrench announced on her personal IG that she has resigned, expressing gratitude for her pleasant 3-year collaboration with Byredo and congratulating her predecessor, the senior “successor” Lucia Pica.

Italian makeup artist Lucia Pica is an independent makeup artist who has collaborated with major fashion magazines for many years, accumulating a wealth of makeup experience. In 2015, she was recognized by Chanel and appointed as the global makeup creative and color designer under Peter Philips. During her time at Chanel, Lucia has created many classic runway looks and iconic collections.

Now, Lucia’s strong addition to Byredo has really made makeup fans look forward to what new direction she will bring to the brand. Will Lucia continue Isamaya’s quirky aesthetics, or will she inject her expertise in elegant quality into Byredo? Stay tuned for the debut of the first Byredo makeup product created by Lucia this fall!
