The classic N°5 perfume not only brings an elegant scent to women, but has also been an inspiration for different cultures and creative fields over the years. This year marks the 100th anniversary of the perfume’s birth. In addition to launching the tribute N°5 jewelry collection, CHANEL also presents “100 Years of Celebrity,” inviting 6 famous figures from various fields such as film, media, and dance to appear in the short film “Celebrity by,” sharing their views on creative culture through in-depth interviews.
Prominent figures include N°5 ad actress Marion Cotillard, ballet dancer and choreographer Marie-Agnès Gillot, veteran fashion media figure Hong Huang from China, psychologist Laurie Santos, former editor of “Vanity Fair” Graydon Carter, and world street dance king Lil Buck. They will offer insightful and unique insights in the short film on the concept of “celebrity,” discussing how to continue defining and changing culture, creativity, and society.
Marion Cotillard explores the connection between “celebrity” and classic symbols, idols, and legends, as well as the importance of staying true to oneself and supporting charitable causes; Graydon Carter, from the perspective of a former editor of Vanity Fair, delves into the profound impact of “celebrity” on popular culture, mass media, and fashion.
As for the international dance prodigy Lil Buck, he started promoting Jookin dance at the age of 13, later receiving training in various genres such as ballet, and collaborating with Madonna and other famous groups. In the short film, he shares his personal experiences, detailing how he developed his own dance style under the influence of different celebrities, cultures, and artistic creations.
A series of full-length videos and personal interview shorts from “Celebrity by” will be launched on CHANEL.com tomorrow, May 21st.
