日本流行超现实主义的代表人物之一——上野阳介以童趣的图像闻名于潮流艺术圈，最近他携手其笔下的魔幻角色来到 Gallery Ascend，带来他在香港首个展览 “Portrait of You”。
Ueno Yosuke, a self-taught artist, held his first solo exhibition at the age of 16. He creates various magical creatures and cute cartoon characters with vibrant colors. His style is deeply influenced by Japanese manga, anime characters, street graffiti, and popular imagery, making his works a blend of Western and Japanese culture. In this exhibition, Ueno reinterprets the classic masterpieces of Picasso and Velázquez in a completely new way. The characters in the paintings face the audience with innocent and pure expressions, their eyes sparkling with starlight, arousing curiosity about their experiences.

上野除了绘画以外，亦以雕塑而闻名。自2008年以来，他创作的限量版雕塑系列成功地促成了与世界各地的玩具公司合作，更受到艺术家和收藏家的欣赏，成功跻身潮玩界。
