今届法国五月艺术节一连两个月迎来约 80 场文化艺术节目，除了一系列电影、剧作及音乐表演之外，亦带来了多项艺术展览，而其中的《超现实之外—巴黎庞比度中心藏品展》更是最令人期待的重头戏！由超现实主义艺术权威专家 Didier Ottinger 策划，展出逾 100 件来自 André Breton、Giorgio de Chirico、Salvador Dali、Francis Picabia、Max Ernst 及 René Magritte 等巴黎庞比度中心收藏的艺术家作品及文献资料，绝对是艺术迷必看的展览。
当时超现实主义艺术家的作品之中，都包含了能反映当时的社会、历史和梦想的神话。希腊神话对 Salvador Dalí、Francis Picabia 及 Max Ernst. 等一众早期的超现实主义艺术家，有着深远的影响，而 Giorgio de Chirico 的画作为其他超现实主义者构建了一个现代神话的雏形。
