Taiwanese artist Robin Huang X Thai artist TOS Suntos join forces for the first time to hold an art exhibition, showcasing the aesthetics of monsters and the theme “First Contact”!

To trace the history of human civilization, it is inseparable from the advanced development of society and culture. So, what if plants had civilization?

Taiwanese artist Robin Huang, who loves plants, starts with making pots, and over time, integrates plants into artistic expression, creating a series of plant sculptures to express his fantasy of the plant world. When Robin meets contemporary Thai artist TOS Suntos, they suddenly discover each other’s “dark” elements and hit it off.

So, this time Robin and TOS join hands for the first time in Hong Kong to present the dual exhibition “First Contact”, featuring over 20 new paintings, sculptures, and art toys making their debut, bringing an unprecedented cross-border art experience!

Robin is known for his unique plant sculptures, while TOS excels in creating monster figures full of Thai style. Although the creations of the two artists seem stylistically different, they cleverly blend each other’s cultural elements in their work, creating a new and innovative artistic exchange.

In the “First Contact” exhibition, they explore the five basic elements of each civilization: “weapons,” “animals,” “plants,” “peace,” and “belief,” interpreting these concepts from their unique perspectives. In the exhibition, TOS created 8 large paintings showcasing his unique Thai monster aesthetic; at the same time, Robin’s 7 new paintings and 8 imaginative sculptures were also exhibited, fully demonstrating his accomplishments in the field of plant sculpture.

What is particularly special is the first collaborative creation of a 6.5-meter-tall giant joint work by the two, a unique giant Thai monster created by TOS, embracing Robin’s plant sculpture image. This work is pasted on the glass curtain wall in the museum, bringing fresh visual impact to the audience; and for the first time at the exhibition, limited edition art toys created by Robin and TOS for this theme are also sold, with a limited number available for purchase through a lottery.
