Located inside the LOG-ON Cityplaza store, cafe ToGather by LOG-ON not only offers Japanese cuisine and desserts, but has recently transformed into an art gallery, showcasing the exhibition “遊夢。夢之景” by Japanese artist Maki Kuchida.
Maki Kuchida is a talented and imaginative Japanese artist. She majored in painting art during her university years in Japan, and then lived in Beijing for over ten years to pursue a more delicate gongbi painting technique. She obtained a master’s degree in fine arts from the Central Academy of Fine Arts in Beijing, and her diverse cultural background has shaped her unique artistic style.
Travel, trinkets, and mythical stories are all sources of inspiration for Maki’s creations. Her artwork often features a brave and determined young girl embarking on adventures in magical forests or oceans, evoking people’s curiosity to explore the unknown. What sets her work apart is the absence of clear information or stories; the artist hopes that the audience can freely interpret and create their own stories.

Maki Kuchida creates limited edition works every year, which perfectly aligns with the relaxed personality of cafe ToGather by LOG-ON and its “Bite and View, when art meets appetite” slow appreciation lifestyle attitude. Each of her works takes time to create, and after printing, she will “revisit” each painting, using meticulous brushwork and egg coloring techniques to add color in multiple places. She combines elements of nature, dreams, imagination, courage, and slow living to create unique “hand edited prints.”
The “Dream. Dreamscapes” exhibition at cafe ToGather by LOG-ON showcases 15 handcrafted printed artworks, vibrant in color. Each artwork is accompanied by a detailed description, allowing visitors to learn about the story behind the piece or purchase related artworks and art merchandise through QR codes.
Maki said, “It would be wonderful if people who enjoy my work could ‘carry’ them in their daily lives, such as having my work on a bag or wallet.” This exhibition also created a series of seven art products, including notebooks, cups, and small bags, which can be purchased at LOG-ON stores or online during the exhibition period.
