Soluna Fine Art presents the group exhibition “Gravity” at the end of the year, featuring four artists from Hong Kong and the Netherlands: Wu Ruiyin, Jian Qiaoqian, Park Youjin, and Zhang Tingxuan. Through a combination of abstract and representational techniques, the artists create mixed media works depicting various styles of plants, still life, and landscapes, leading the audience into a realm of interwoven reality and emptiness.

In the laws of nature, the emergence of gravity demonstrates a fundamental vitality. This exhibition showcases the intuitive experiences of human beings, as we slowly seek to understand reality from different perspectives through our interpretations of color and brushstrokes.

The works of Ng Yui Ying (Hong Kong) are relatively casual, filled with strong emotions and a hint of irony. This is a true reflection of her longing for ideals and freedom in the creative process. However, she often finds herself contradicting the “ideal” form of imagery on the canvas, causing her to repeatedly examine her own beliefs, fears, and desires.

Chien Chiao-Chien (Hong Kong) uses deep and mysterious blue-colored plant paintings to imply the complex existence of humans between life and death. In addition to embodying the vulnerable side of humanity, the plants also project a transcendent realm. Chien Chiao-Chien mainly adopts a blue tone, which not only symbolizes birth and new beginnings, but the hazy background also creates a sense of detachment and disharmony.

Park You-jin (South Korea) uses color in landscape paintings to highlight the seasonal atmosphere and weather conditions. Although most of the sky and trees appear dim or even stormy, Park subtly presents covered houses, adding a sense of security for the viewers.

The still life paintings of Zhang Tingxuan (Korea) deconstruct the subject with abstract brushstrokes, creating a visual that appears scattered in color yet gathers light. She believes that behind the mundane and intimate relationships, there are hidden thoughts that are unknown to others. Like a unique halo, they emit in the moments of ordinary and beautiful life.
