During the graduation season every year, various art schools that offer art courses will hold a joint exhibition for graduates. In addition to allowing everyone to appreciate the unique creative achievements of the students, it is also a great opportunity for galleries of all sizes to discover new talents in the art world. This year, 10 Chancery Lane Gallery presents the 11th “Hong Kong Foreword 2022” exhibition, where they have selected 17 masterpieces from young students among many graduation exhibitions, allowing the audience to feel the powerful creative force of the new generation!
Since 2012, the gallery has been actively discovering emerging artists in Hong Kong and supporting local artist communities, providing opportunities for recent graduates to interact with the local and international art scenes, encouraging them to pursue a career in art. As we enter the third year of the pandemic, the world is living in a new normal of daily epidemic prevention. Students’ choice of themes and methods in their artwork inevitably reflects their concerns about the current social situation. As they prepare these graduation works, it is during the most severe phase of the pandemic in Hong Kong, they create with perseverance and passion, adding another layer of meaning to their works.
The exhibiting artists include graduates from The Chinese University of Hong Kong, Hong Kong Baptist University, School of Creative Media at City University of Hong Kong, Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology, and Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts. In this exhibition, we can see a diverse range of artworks by the artists, including paintings, sculptures, videos, prints, new media, and installations.

In addition to bringing intuitive aesthetic significance, the work also encompasses their concerns, anxieties, observations, reflections, and memories of this era. These young creators engage in original and passionate interactions with viewers through their work.
