Art, in different mediums, embodies the personal views and imaginations of artists, telling moving stories and composing touching melodies. The Yong Ting Xu Gallery will soon present a joint exhibition “In Search of Fantasia” by Hong Kong artist Leung Hoi Nga and Italian artist Isabella Mandelli. They will transform everyday and dreamy imaginations into their works, sparking the audience’s beautiful fantasies of fairy tales.
The exhibition invites two female artists to engage in dialogue, expressing the subtle changes they observe in everything in their works, showcasing their emotions towards everyday life. The themes of the works focus on self-expression, state of mind, and the relationship between humans and nature.
Liang Kaiya constructs a world between reality and fantasy through misplaced elements in daily life. Her artistic expression and self-indulgence in creation stem from the reconstruction of perceptions and the amplification of the imagined world. Her creations may sometimes be inspired by a song, an article, a journey, or even by imagining the future.
As an artist, Isabella immerses herself in a fairy tale bubble composed of harmony and fantasy. Under her brush, Barabubbles come to life vividly. Her works possess theatrical drama, showcasing a whimsical and innocent quality with fantastical elements, while also depicting the harmonious balance between nature and magical creatures.
Feel free to visit the exhibition and appreciate how artists from both places depict a lively and beautiful world!
