Electronic screen art is no less than physical painting! Samsung X SHOUT Gallery brings 4 popular Hong Kong artists’ digital creations.

The Frame Digital Art Gala

As society becomes increasingly technologically advanced, even art creation and exhibition are no exception. With the prevalence of social media, many artists now choose to create using electronic products, bringing audiences a lot of easily shareable digital drawings. In order to present the artistic details of the works more realistically, Samsung has launched the latest matte screen technology in Samsung The Frame 2022, driving the development of technology art.

Recently, Samsung collaborated with SHOUT Art Hub & Gallery to present The Frame Digital Art Gala, showcasing the digital creations of 4 local popular artists in the form of electronic hanging paintings. The participating artists include Eric Chow, LeonLollipop, Ho Pok Yan, and Offgod.

Hong Kong artist and illustrator Vivian Ho is proficient in digital illustration and passionate about using old Hong Kong as a creative theme. Vivian’s digital works on display this time reproduce the traditional style of Hong Kong, using a colorful illustration style to tell the small stories of bustling streets and memories of old objects, piecing together another “Hong Kong-style” “Samsung The Frame Wall,” showcasing the unique charm of this city’s blend of old and new.

Hong Kong painter and illustrator LeonLollipop (Leon Li) is a master of animal portraiture, known for creating the mural “Gloomie the cat with cheeks.” This exhibition presents a series of charming digital cat artworks, with lively expressions and adorable outfits that are sure to bring a smile to anyone’s face.

Hong Kong artist and fashion designer Andrew Mok, a.k.a. Offgod, born in the Z generation, has been exposed to the internet and digital technology since childhood, deeply influenced by music and Western fashion culture. A series of digital works with avant-garde style document his daily life. This exhibition brings together 16 pieces to create a stunning mural “Samsung The Frame Wall,” perfectly showcasing his unique artistic style.

Hong Kong illustrator Eric Chow is skilled at incorporating surrealism and humor into his work. His first foray into toy design, “The Fattie” series, features the protagonist Jeff, who looks like a chubby hamburger. Jeff loves sports, but he loves hamburgers even more, highlighting the long-standing conflict between human obsession with food and aesthetic standards. This exhibition of “The Fattie” series is presented digitally to promote the culture of trendy toy design.
