Dynamic light and shadow reproduce the elegance of “Raohe”! Go Museum takes you into the literary lotus garden depicted by Rao Zongyi!

Appreciating art goes beyond static observation, it can also break through the limitations of time and space, personally “walking” into the world of the artwork! Recently, Go Museum has used contemporary technology to showcase various lotus postures under the brush of the master of Chinese studies, Rao Zongyi, presenting the elegant and resolute artistic conception of Rao He through the dynamic use of light and shadow.

The lotus flowers in various poses come to life under the interplay of light and shadow, delicately outlining contemporary artistic aesthetics for everyone!

Professor Rao Zongyi is knowledgeable in a wide range of subjects, including literature, calligraphy, painting, and poetry. His works have made significant contributions to the academic world and have had a profound impact. Since the 1970s, Professor Rao has mainly focused on painting lotus flowers. The lotus flowers in his paintings have undergone many changes, from a style similar to the Four Monks to emphasizing the momentum of lotus flowers. In later works, he breaks free from traditional constraints and adopts a more natural approach in his brushwork, colors, and composition. His innovative ideas include using the Dunhuang white painting technique, splashing ink, outlining shapes with ink, and using splashed colors with reduced brushwork, creating one classic “Rao He” masterpiece after another.

The still lotus flowers with a gentle breeze, the gently swaying flowers add to the spring atmosphere; paired with the slowly blooming animated lotus flowers, one can almost smell the faint floral scent; the gradually unfolding ink splashes make the painting more vibrant. The artwork remains classic, while the meticulous post-production animation provides another perspective for viewing, giving viewers a completely different sensation.

Viewers can personally step into these works, come into close contact with the classics under the light and shadow, feel the artistic conception of lotus flowers “emerging from the mud but remaining pure”, and can also be framed with Raohe under the lens, truly “entering” the literary works. Everyone may take this opportunity to come and appreciate it!
