The NFT craze has continued from the beginning of the year to the end. Following the Asia’s first large ART TECH experience exhibition, Digital Art Fair Asia, held in October this year, the art market has shown a strong interest in digital technology and digital art. Artistsverse will collaborate with the local art technology education group Metautopia to hold an NFT art-themed experience exhibition “Meta Nostalgia Hong Kong in Those Years” in January 2022, leading the audience through immersive art to experience the most well-known Hong Kong pop culture!
The exhibition invites 9 creators including Victor Wong, creator of the Golden Horse Awards, local renowned comic artist Elphonso Lam, famous NFT photographers Sean Foley and Derry Ainsworth, and local artist Kwan Shu-man to revisit old Hong Kong street scenes with immersive art.
During the exhibition, the curatorial team chose to start with the collective memories of Causeway Bay. Through the whimsical ideas of a group of artists, combined with immersive art installations and advanced art technology such as virtual reality scenes, the most distinctive iconic buildings, street scenes, and nostalgic feelings of the past are re-presented to the audience, allowing everyone to feel as if they are in an immersive art theater (Art Theatre).
In addition to the multiple comic character works exhibited by the famous comic artist Lin Xiangkun, as well as creations by well-known new media artist Zhu Lixing. The exhibition will also showcase attention-grabbing new works by several local emerging artists, including a series of classic Hong Kong-style night scene NFT photography works by Hong Kong-born Australian artists Sean Foley and Derry Ainsworth; contemporary neon light installation art created by Sharmaine Kwan.
Artistsverse collaborates with local art and technology education group Metautopia to launch Hong Kong’s first metaverse art and teaching program aimed at children, teaching them about blockchain and NFT creation to inspire their innovative thinking abilities.
